Well, we might have mom’s place sold. And we might not have to do any work, you know, carpet cleaning, painting. The prospective owners even said they wouldn’t mind keeping the furniture! So, Brian and put out the boxes of clothes and kitchenware on Friday for pick up and left the furniture.
I heard from the park manager that the people who were interested in the coach were approved for their loan, but they haven’t called us yet. You’d think if they go the loan, they’d really want to contact us. I’m sure the lender will want to inspect the place.
Anyway, last week I finally got around to getting out the paperwork to get the place transferred into my name and going through mom’s stuff, I found a receipt from an auto body shop for $1200.00. Not for mom’s car. Not with mom’s name. But my mom obviously paid for it. I didn’t recognize the name and mom had never mentioned it to me.
And what I think happened? Mom had an accident and paid for it herself without involving her insurance company. I think back to when I mentioned the big scratch along the passenger side of her car “oh, it’s nothing, it happened in the parking lot at the grocery store”. Not at all the attitude I’d expect from her if someone hit her. Had she been drinking? Or just careless?
I’ll never know. I’m just glad no one was hurt.
Could this be another one of the straws on her back, the load that just kept getting a little heavier, until she just gave up?
