catstuff 09:07 AM - 02/22/2011 The topic: Oliver is trying to kill me ---------------------------------------------- I’m afraid that Brian will come home and find me on the floor, head broken open and all of my blood surrounding me. That damned cat is doing whatever he can to make me trip and fall.  The other night I was walking into the kitchen to get dinner dished up and he walked between my feet, I had to put my hand out to keep me from falling and hurting the both of us and reached out to the closest thing, which happened to be the oven door. Yeoouch!  I’ve got a blister on the palm of my hand. This morning I wanted to get a pill for Marco (we think he has a bladder infection) and I ended up carrying Ollie so I could walk without fear of dying.  Cats.  Gotta love ‘em.

I have one like that too, a black Bombay named Mango. He constantly tries to kill me, in just the ways you speak of. One of his favorite tricks is coming up behind me in the kitchen and laying down DIRECTLY behind my feet when I’m at the counter working. Thank goodness for the sink, otherwise my head would be split open. I finally caught on to him one afternoon. I was in the kitchen, emptying the dishwasher. I bent down to get more dishes. When I stood up, I hit my head very hard of the cabinet door (gotta fix that!) and knocked myself out. What woke me up (and I am not making this up) was my dear little Mango, doing a victory dance (you’ve seen Simon’s cat, when he does his high steppin’ kneady, alternating paw-foot little dance?)on my stomach. I swear there was a gleam in his eye. He was so irritated when I got up. Is it their Union, or is it in the fine print on the kitty-human contract? Really makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
