Well, I finally found a way yesterday to get him to eat that didn't include me holding him and shoving food down his throat. He really didn't care much for that.
Nope.
He's actually quite good at staying in the bedroom, or at least he was Thursday afternoon and yesterday. He slept in the bed both nights.
Yesterday morning I got about a half a can of A/D into him (he had another half can the night before). With the finger thing. Dig a portion out onto my finger and wipe it in his mouth. Then I let him out of the bathroom and he went outdoors.
Well, yesterday mid-afternoon, I watched him cleaning himself. And I had an idea. When I brought him in, he slept on the bed for a while, then up into the window. And I got a jar of meat baby food.
And I scooped a portion onto my finger. And I wiped it on his front let. He cleaned it off. I did it again. He cleaned it again. It took a little while, but we got a half a jar of chicken baby food into him. Later I got more into him. There was only a little bit left in the jar, but I didn't want him to get tired of it and refuse to eat any.
He spent the night in the house and got up around five this morning. He peed, then he went into the office. I got a fresh jar of baby food and set it down in front of him. He started to eat! On his own! Then I poured some of it into a bowl and he was having none of that. He made his way outside and walked down by the pool, where he pooped in the bark. Yay! So, all of his parts work! He can eat, he can pee, he can poop!
I know it's slow going, and I'll still wipe baby food on his legs, but I think we may be on the way to recovery.
