When we go out to breakfast, it's usually to Denny's. Why? It's cheap.
Other restaurants have a minimal breakfast starting at eight bucks. Denny's Value Slam is $4.49. Two pancakes, two pieces of meat (bacon or sausage) and two eggs. Add the 15% AARP discount and you have a decent meal for two for under ten bucks (not including tip).
Well, Brian said let's go to IHOP for breakfast, get that special we've seen on television (similar to the value slam at Denny's), then head over to Home Depot.
No special on the menu. Meals start at $8.49. And that's on the senior menu. Brian asked about the special on television. "Oh, that's only available Monday through Friday."
I order the over fifty five meal. Two eggs. Two pancakes. Two eggs. I order the eggs scrambled, the bacon crispy. Brian ordered the same.
Bacon was burnt. Eggs were burnt. Butter on the pancakes was cold and unspreadable. Trying to do so, just put a big hole in the middle of the pancake.
When we left, Brian said now he remembers why we don't go to IHOP. At least the one in Santee.
