We found a quarter and a dime on our walk this morning

The topic: Miss Elizabeth update

----------------------------------------------

Well, the diagnosis is beginning stages of kidney failure. So, she’ll be on the same kind of med that Ollie is on, but a different dosage.  And it cost more to compound than his. Which sucks.

This weekend, she really didn’t seem to be doing well, she wouldn’t eat hardly anything. Then Friday night I cooked up some chicken for her. She ate a little that night, then she ate a little Saturday morning, but turned her nose away after I got the third piece for her.  She wanted to stay in my lap, but I’m up and down a lot, I was doing laundry and it bothered her to be moved.  I set her up next to me on a fleece blanket, then covered her.

She was that way for over six hours.  She slept all day, then got up to get a drink of water and I gave her more chicken and she ate over a half a chicken breast at one sitting.  Sunday morning, she wanted some dry kibble, the treats the cats get in the morning and she ate more chicken throughout the day.  Yesterday afternoon she went back into the family room window and slept there for a while.

Whatever else was wrong with her (I know it was more than the kidney thing), she’s coming out of it and I believe the chicken helped. There has been a small amount of sneezing, so it’s possible she’s been working on a cold.

I’m still waiting on her medication, it will probably be here tomorrow.

lisaviolet is seventy something, married with no kids, takes care of lots of cats, likes taking photographs, loves Southern California weather and spends altogether too much time avoiding her responsibilities.

In her spare time, she makes pretty things to sell in her store.
