The topic: We’re taking in another kitty

----------------------------------------------

I’ll be getting him Monday.

Vet’s office called yesterday, one of their clients called, she had taken in a cat from a friend who was moving to Texas.  But the cat or her dogs are having some issues and are not getting along.

The cat is seventeen years old. Black. Male, neutered.  Declawed (possibly four paw). May be blind in one eye.  Rescues won’t take him and because of his age, you know damn well the shelters would put him down.

WTF?  What kind of person walks away from a pet who’s been a family member for seventeen fricking years!

I just felt so bad for this old guy. When Brian got home, I asked him how soft hearted he was feeling. And I told him.

He’s an elderly cat, probably has four years at most.  When we brought Miss and Bobby in, there wasn’t much of a problem with the other cats.  Being mature and all.

So, Brian said “whatever you want to do”.

Brian will need to get the big crate down and we’ll set it up in the family room.  I don’t want this guy wandering around his first week or so here without me right behind him.

And being in the crate will help acclimate him to this house, it’s sounds and smells and the other cats.

You know, sometimes I just hate people.

I called the vet’s office and told Alicia that we’ll take him, we’ll pick him up Monday. She said “do you want him today?”  No, we’ve got a busy weekend planned.  Best to bring him in when I’ll be here most of the day.

Bless you my dear. I’m with you on the disgust of people who don’t take their babies until “death do us part”  You will be rewarded for your kindness to animals.

This just warms my heart, you guys are really just too special for words. I can’t wait to see photos. He couldn’t of found a better place to spend his final years, whoever had him before didn’t deserve him.
