The topic: Welp…

----------------------------------------------

Last night in bed, there was a cat between us.  I asked Brian who this cat was, Richie or Opie?  It was Richie. And it sounded like he was having a hard time swallowing.  Sound familiar?

And just a few minutes ago, I saw him trying to eat some food, then gakking it up (gakking is the sound he was making).  Just like Red.

So, now, I’m thinking the clowder has a cold.  Lovely.  Red hasn’t gotten any better, he’s able to eat even less than before, but he looks good and alert.

*sigh*

I feel for you, Kori is in a similiar situation with her throat.  I asked the vet last night if he thought she was in pain, he said, if your throat looked like hamburger, wouldn’t you? Yep, I would.

She is only 3 and has had two exploritory surgeries, she has some disease I can’t begin to pronounce, let alone spell. My only option for her is PTS and it’s killing me.

She was a happy cat and loves us!! Was…being the operative word there. She is very cranky these days and I have the feeling, sooner, than later I’ll have this ugly deed to do.

She’s GOT to be miserable.

My hart goes out to all who have to make the tough decisions.  I have just placed on of my gang of strays that live in my front yard in with the vet for about a week, she will be boarding with antibiotics for 4-5 days prior to dental work (I hope that is the only problem) then she is back to me for convalescence… I am dreading anything worse…
It has taken me 2 months to catch her - eventually rigged up a cargo net type of device and hoisted her up to catch her - but she needed to be caught… she can barely eat or drink without running around pawing at her face or lunging back mouth and tongue working as if she has been stuck by an electricasl shock in the mouth.

I will pray for you and yours and you can pray for me and mine.

It is a hard decision to make , but when you feel it is a case of constant pain, or blessed relief, then .....

Take care,

Kerry
