Because I'm tired of fast food. It's expensive besides it's really not that good for you and it's boring. With this summer heat, I really don't want to turn on the oven so we end up eating fast food.
And it seems stupid to have the oven on at the same time the air conditioning is running, you know?
So, I'm trying out some crockpot recipes for stuff I'd make in the oven. Earlier this week it was mac and cheese. It tasted okay, but the texture was weird. The recipe had eggs in it, maybe I wasn't supposed to stir it until it was done, I dunno. But I won't make it again, that's for sure.
Today, I'm going to do crockpot baked potatoes. Just wash them, stick a fork in them (to let the steam escape), butter them up and wrap 'em in foil. Put them in the crockpot for 4-5 hours on high.
Seems easy enough and I can make enough so that we can have potatoes for breakfast.
When they're done, we'll have butter and grated cheese and sour cream, which maybe I'll mix with horseradish to give it a bite, it's very, very tasty.
Looking forward to dinner.
