The topic: Trick or treaters

----------------------------------------------

Every year, there are less.  This year, there were sixteen.  We gave out full sized yummy candy bars (not crap, chocolate).  Snickers, Baby Ruth, Butterfinger, M & Ms (plain and peanut), $100 Grand,  Crunch….there were some Starburst and Skittles, but I handed those out first.  Not chocolate=crap.

Brian said there were a ton of kids walking up and down the street.  He heard one man ask his kid if he wanted to come down to our house and the kid said “no”.

Maybe because the driveway is dark.  Maybe because of the bushes.  Our house might look scary to the little folk.  I dunno.

I do know that we bought sixty candy bars.  We gave away sixteen.  Which leaves us with forty four.  I ate four last night (had to get it out of my system).  That leaves forty.  Brian had three, which leaves thirty-seven.

Let’s see how long we can make them last.  Any bets as to when the last candy bar will be gone?  (Keep in mind, I get into moods where I physically crave chocolate.)

Too bad you have all that candy left.  If your driveway is so dark, why don’t you - next year of course - line it with lighted pumpkins with carvings of kitties.  To make it over the top maybe one for each cat you have?  I did Cinderella, her castle, Jaq Jaq, and Lucifer on two pumpkins this year with battery powered lights and even after we ran out of candy, kids came and rang the bell because they saw the pumpkins.  We gave them halloween stickers - a trick or a treat? wink.

As for when your last candy bar is gone - me thinks it will be right after Thanksgiving…

If those candybars were in my house, they’d be gone by the weekend.  It was raining here last night so the kid traffic was light on my street and I didn’t have any candy so all my lights were off outside in the front and most of the inside lights were off.

I couldn’t tell you how many candy bars I bought.  Let’s just say, enough for the whole office for the next month.  I didn’t even have one trick-or-treater.  Not one!  and it didn’t rain, I have all my lights on, inside and out.  Last year I had about 20 kids.  The year before, we had about 30.  It just seams to be less and less every year.

I give your choclate 20 days.

Okay, we’re down four bars.  I had two yesterday, Brian had two. Thirty-three left.

Now, one of my friends, who lives in Texas had 280 little goblins visit. Do you suppose it’s because everybody in Texas packs heat, so no one is afraid of getting hurt?

Our house is on a hill, so we have a steep driveway.  Only had two trick or treaters show up (and then my nephew).  I saw some parents driving their kids to each house - must have a lot of lazy kids out here!

Actually, I think it’s less a matter of lazy kids and more a matter of cautious parents, Jenn.  Gone are the days when it was safe to let kids go trick or treating unsupervised.  Now we have perverts out there who make the streets unsafe for youngsters.  Kids get kidnapped in broad daylight.
