disneystuff 07:51 PM - 06/12/2009 The topic: They’re remodeling DCA ---------------------------------------------- Some of the stuff is going to be pretty nice, but some of the things they’re doing, I can’t say as I’m too fond of them.  Here are some before and after pictures. The original Mickey head on California Screamin’. Not exciting in the least. In a word? Bleh.

Oh No! I like the old stuff much better. I still have that shirt I got when we went down there. The one you did in black and white with Screamin and the palm trees. The Mickey head fits the picture so well, that sun just looks out of place. The Micky head on the sun wheel is nice, but it doesn’t look right either. It’s too new or updated or something. I agree, I don’t like it either. When the park overhaul to the 1920’s is complete maybe it will all come together nicely. Saw video on youtube of the Sunwheel lit up with Mickey…hope it doesn’t cause pilots to be blinded at night! I’ve got a bunch more pictures to post.  If you compare the boardwalk in the top two pictures, you’ll see that they’ve added things there, too. This year, a lot of DCA will be getting redone. Well, for the next three years. the entire entrance will be changed.  They’re taking out the waterfall in the front, that’s something I’ve got to get a long video of before it’s gone, because I’ve always found it so relaxing. And all of the water by Paradise Pier (you can see that if you look at the bottom of the Mickey Head wheel picture) is gone.  Remember Fantasmic?  Well, there is going to be a water show at DCA, from the things I’ve seen of it, it will be pretty impressive.
