Well, the crate is back in storage. Sebastian has joined the general population. Very little hissing. Most of it comes from me when another cat, say Sagwa, has his nose up Seb’s butt.
Tuesday night I left the door open so that he could explore the house. He found a new hidey spot in the garage, hissed the heck out of me. But I was able to get his eye ointment administered with the help of some grass. *lol* Yesterday, just not confident about the appearance of his eye, I took him back to the vet. It’s doing much better and he’ll get his last dose today. The vet said to keep it on hand in case of another flare up.
The eye will never be 100%, but it looks a ton better now and it’s not painful for him. The vet said this isn’t a new problem, it’s a problem that started long ago and was never properly resolved. Remember, the woman who gave him to me told me he was blind in one eye, which is how she got him. He was never properly diagnosed. No wonder he stayed in a tent at her place, his eye hurt.
But he walks through the house, eating from the feeders and drinking from the fountains. He was going back into the crate waiting for food and I figured the best way to end that was to remove the crate. After all, he hangs in his hidey spot most of the day. I know as the days go on, he’ll become more and more comfortable in the house and not jump at the new little sounds. I like that it’s gone so smoothly and I hope he enjoys the rest of his days in the comfort of our home.
