I just saw a post on a forum I frequent and there was some discussion of letting the animals drink out of the toilet. One person said she shuts the bathroom door to keep the animals out of the toilet. I know an easier way.

----------------------------------------------I just saw a post on a forum I frequent and there was some discussion of letting the animals drink out of the toilet. One person said she shuts the bathroom door to keep the animals out of the toilet. I know an easier way.
Up or down became down for forever with my cat Jaxom. He liked to drink out of the toilet, but he fell into the toilet in the middle of the night. Then he got up on top of me, while I was asleep, and began meowing into my ear. That is not a fun way to wake up in the dark of the night. Unfortunately, I lapsed after a few weeks, and we went through the same thing, but that was the very last time. Every where I go, the lid goes down. Forevermore.

I not only put the lid down, but I also close my master bath door and have for years. It used to be just because I didn’t have a door stop and Sammy was forever closing herself in the bathroom. I have door stops now, but I’ve gotten into the habit of just closing the door. Lids are always down. My parents come and leave up the lid. I tell them over and over put the lid down. Do they listen? No. Parents! You just can’t raise them right.

I know the likelyhood is terribly remote, but I keep remembering all those trapped animals who died of thirst after 911 cuz the toilet lid was down. I leave my up, just in case.

Mine is always down! When my boyfriend and I moved in together he would forget until he got to see a toilet water cat runing through the house. Now he leaves it down !
