Finally!
You might recall my laments during last year’s summer season. About the air conditioner crapping out altogether, how it ran and ran and ran and ran and never did a darned thing about cooling down the house. We had that A/C unit installed the year we moved in here, 1986. And the furnace, we believe, is the original one installed when the house was built, back in the early 70s.
Yesterday, we had a brand new air conditioner and furnace installed. This morning the heater came on and boy, is it fast. The installer said this new unit would push air ten times faster than the old one did.
I can’t even believe I’m saying this, but I’ll love to check out the A/C when the summer hits, see what a swell job it does of cooling. The house actually needs a 3.5 ton unit, but we got a 4 ton unit. And something that kind of sucks about this house is that the rooms that get the most sun during the summer are the room where the temperature gets higher without the help of nature. The office, with the computers and printers and the kitchen and laundry room, where we have a stove, an oven and a clothes dryer. Here in the office, I even have a fan aimed at the back of two of the computers to help keep the air flowing through.
Yay!
And ppffft! to you, San Diego Gas & Electric!
