We found a dime on our walk this morning

She’s home, she’s sore.  I was able to get her at 3:30 yesterday afternoon.  She was out of the carrier like a shot once we got in the door, the carrier set down and I unlatched it.

The vet mentioned she’d been a little depressed after the surgery, he asked if she was like that before.  I really didn’t notice, but she was very glad to get home.  His follow up instructions left a little to be desired, though.

Before I left I asked if she would need a recheck.   One of the techs went back to ask him.  Yes, in two weeks.   After I was home, I started thinking about the Clindmycin.  I was supposed to use it until it was gone, does that still hold true now that she’s lost those teeth?  I call. They check with the doctor.  Yes, keep giving her the antibiotic through Friday.

Then I start wondering about the prednisone.  You don’t cold turkey steroids.  At 5:30 last night, I call again.  Ask about the pred. They put me on hold, go back and ask the doctor.  Okay, drop her dosage to a half a pill a day for a week, then every other day until he sees her.

This stuff should have been spelled out for me.  If I wasn’t an informed owner, it would have never even occurred to me to double check on any of it.

She got back into the catcam chair last night after getting some major smurgles from her daddy.  She loves her daddy.

She did keep her canines and one top tooth, the rest are history. She ate some hard food last night, but it was more of a swallow it whole than chew it type of eat.  Now that those teeth are gone, there should be nothing for the immune system left to attack and she should start feeling better soon.

Poor kitty cat.  She doesn’t know what’s going on.

I think she knows that what is happening is to help her feel better.
The fact that she ate (swallowed) is a great sign. Hugs to her and you.
