The topic: I wonder what’s up with Gilly

----------------------------------------------

I’m suspecting a new food source.  Because he isn’t coming around on a regular basis at all, but when he does, he looks fine.  Doesn’t look sick, isn’t limping, looks normal.

Last weekend I went out early to see if I saw him anywhere and down at the corner, across from that other house, the ones the cops were at, I saw an older man walking around the house with lots of juniper bushes, where in the past there was a feral colony.  He walked up the street, looking into the back yard. The odd thing was he was wearing slippers.  And he reminded me of me when I used to go in search of the outdoor kitties.

And I suspect this fella is the source of the food.

What adds to my suspicion of a new food source is the fact that KittyMeeze is staying around.  When Gilly was sick or when he was injured, Kitty went down to stay with him and take care of him. Obviously Kitty is not worried about him now.

Magically, after I announce my ideas to Brian this morning, after seeing all food put out last night still in the bowl, very little eaten, I look out only to see Gilly eating with Kitty.  I put out more food, Gilly ate a small bit, then left.  There’s a horrible amount of food being thrown out the past few weeks.

But what do we do?  Not put out enough?  I’m thinking that’s what we could do and just keep the dry feeder filled.  Although there’d not be wet food, there would at least be dry, so there’s no possibility of a cat leaving hungry.

*sigh*
