The topic: I don’t think I’ve mentioned the

----------------------------------------------

raccoon that’s been coming by at night for dinner.

I wish it wouldn’t.  It was bad enough when it finished all the food we’d put out, but then, it started taking a bath in the fountain at front. And to add insult to injury….

it’s using the fountain as a toilet!  We’ve started feeding KittyMeeze (who is doing well, by the way) his night meal when it’s still light out and pulling up the food that’s not eaten.  We’re hoping with no food source, the raccoon will quickly quit coming by.  I don’t know how much more of this I can take…

What greeted me this morning:

Yep, another fountain full of raccoon crap.

Brian cleaned it out (again) and I put out a bowl of clean water for KittyMeeze.  Which I’ll keep out there until this critter stops visiting us.

Watch your cats with that raccoon around. I just lost one of the strays that I feed because a raccoon attacked it. She was an aggressive cat and would fight with the others. I guess she wanted to keep the raccoon away from the food. Husband and I heard the fight late at night. Next morn there was plenty of blood on the front steps and she was not around anymore. When I first saw the coon I started holding back on the food left out at night. She was a big cat with a large appetite. I figure they fought over the food that was left. I heard from daughter-in-law that has a farm with plenty of cats that the raccoon with attack and kill for the food.

I think the raccoon is probably one of the reasons the other two ferals have moved on.  Since the dog attack, KittyMeeze has been hiding when the sun goes down. So, we’re feeding him earlier and pulling up all food by the time it’s dark outside.

I had the feeling the raccoon is crapping in the fountain as a payback.
