The topic: Can you help?

----------------------------------------------

This was in my email:

"I love watching your web cams, and have enjoyed reading your story. Please keep up the good work. Since starting to watch your cats, I have found 5 new stray kittens. One about 4 months old the others about four weeks old. All are healthy and friendly. All need forever homes and I don't want to just take them to the shelter. Can you help me find them homes?"

These kittens are in the Boise, Idaho area and if anybody reading this wants to take in one, or two, or three, or more, please let me know and I'll contact Lorraine with your information.

Has she tried calling any shelters to see if they would take the kittens?  There’s one I found on Petfinder called Simply Cats that claims to be a no-kill cat shelter.  Sounds similar to one I volunteer here with in Alabama.  If they can’t take the kittens into the shelter she may be able to just foster them for a while until they have room with the shelter providing food and medical care (shots, spay/neuter, testing, etc.).

I did call our shelter, they told me they would euthanize the kittens.  Our shelter here has over 80 kittens and cats at this time, they can’t take in any more.  So I ap praying someone can help me find them good homes.  I have 5 cats of my own and can’t take on any more.
I am open for any suggestions.

Try PAWS in Boise:  .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  Someone in the Boise area recommended them, that’s where she got two of her cats from.

If you go to petfinder.com you can click on the link at the time that will take you to lists of shelters and rescue groups by state.  There were 61 listed for Idaho - not all were for cats - but several in the Boise area including Paws for Life and Simply Cats in addition to others.  I don’t have a map of Idaho up so I have no idea how close some of these places are, but go through the list of any that are close by and maybe you’ll get a hit.  Offer to foster them for a while if the shelter promises to let you know when they have an opening.  I wish you lived closer to Alabama, because I might be able to help you out more, but no such luck.  They are sweet.  I hope you find a solution for them soon.

The link is at the TOP of the page (not “time”).

Thank you so much for the information.  I did not know Paws for Life existed.  I went to their website and checked them out.  Sounds like a wonderful organization.  I have sent them and email with photos of the kittens.  I am going to become one of their supporters.  I feel there is hope for these kittens now.
