The topic: And here’s one of Bart

----------------------------------------------

The old fart. Opie wanted to play and Bart was interested for about thirty seconds. That was enough for him.

When Bart first came to live with us, the vet told him that he'd most likely not live past twelve years, because polydactyls often don't have long lives. Bart will be seventeen this year. Good job, Bartholomew.

We had a polydactyl when I was very little, he lived into his 20’s.  I love all these picture.

We had one that came through the shelter about a year ago.  She was a tortie named Solitaire.  Had these mitts for paws.  I was fascinated by their size and she LOVED swiping food out of the bowl of the one bottom cage (this was at the Petsmart adoption center, not the shelter where the cats roam free unless quarantined for illness or newbies) much to the dismay of the grumpy cat occupying that cage.  She was the funniest little cat.  I think she was the last one I’ve seen come through that was a polydactyl.
