The topic: A week ago today

----------------------------------------------

We went up to Disneyland. We spent the night at the Anabella Hotel.

We went up to take pictures for the gamebooks I’ll be making for the October trip.  I don’t know if I’ve mentioned these, but I thought it would be a lot of fun to have a contest.  This will be the ninth meet and we all pretty much know each other and the group has gotten so big, it’s hard to stay together.  This little contest will have a couple of benefits, that we don’t spend so much time together the first couple of days that by the end of the meet, we would gladly wring one another’s necks and I’ll get more pictures for the annual DVD I make.

I’ll be making books with pictures taken throughout the parks and Downtown Disney.  There will be five different gamebooks and people will have teams.  Each team gets one gamebook.  And the idea is to find where the picture in the gamebook was taken, and take a picture with the team members (minus the photographer) at that same location.  The plan is to have thirty pictures in a book and have two days to take them.  Thursday night, I’ll download the pictures and do the comparison and the winners will be awarded Friday morning, the day we wear the pinwheels and teeshirts.

So, we went up and Brian and I took hundreds of pictures at Disney’s California Adventure.  We tried Disneyland on Saturday, but the park was way too full.  We left around noon and came home.

I took pictures of the room, if you’re interested in the Casita Suite, head on over to the family album (link to the album is in the footer of this page) and go to the Disneyland pictures.

Did you like the Anabella? I notice that they have some great Suite options, maybe we’ll go that route for our next trip in January. I liked the DL Hotel for the convenience on our last trip but, this doesn’t seem that far either. The price seems right at the Anabella and the seperate little extra room for my DD would be nice.

We did like it. We stayed last December in the Concierge Suite (pictures are up over on the fam album in the Disney section).  If you make the reservation early enough, you can get a great price. They also have special rates for AAA members and people over fifty.

The Concierge Suite we booked for October is around $144 a night.

We took the tram to the Timon parking lot, then walked the rest of the way to the hotel.  Brian timed, it, it took ten minutes.  It can take that long to get to the Disney Hotel, Paradise Pier or to the Grand Californian (depending on where the room is located).  We checked rates at the Californian for October and at that time, they were $250 more a night.  Staying at the Anabella (which has three and a half stars to Disney Hotel’s three star rating over on Expedia) is saving us over a thousand bucks.  Yeah, I can do the walk.  *lol*

Wait a minute…
Did anybody want to wring my neck?  People usually do after they get to know me a little.
It’s why I can’t get anyone to try out for Amazing Race with me.
People just want to kill me.

No, Naf, no one wanted to wring your neck.  Your neck is safe. But I noticed a little tension towards the end of the meet and I’d like us to be together more this year when we’re all dressed alike than all in separate groups going off on their own.

Oh, okay.  But I wouldn’t have been surprised if someone did want to wring my neck.  Maybe this trip.  grin
